In 2025, Peter Davison and Janet Fielding stepped back into the TARDIS for Destination: Daleks, a special minisode to announce the release of The Collection: Season 21 on Blu-ray. Returning to the London docklands where they first said goodbye over 40 years ago in Resurrection of the Daleks, the Fifth Doctor and Tegan are pulled into a new mystery concerning their friend Turlough – but the minisode’s cliffhanger leaves them caught in the middle of yet another Dalek plot!
Thankfully, writer Pete McTighe has continued the story of Destination: Daleks in the form of a special comic, included with this month’s issue of Doctor Who Magazine! The Doctor and Tegan face the Daleks and reunite with Turlough in this special 16-page mini-mag, of which you can find a special preview of the first two pages below…
Plus, in honour of the BBC iPlayer debut of two missing episodes from The Daleks’ Master Plan on Friday 3rd April, DWM have shared some of memories from Adrienne Hill, who plays the First Doctor’s ill-fated companion Katarina in the serial…

The late ADRIENNE HILL’s memories of appearing as Katarina in episodes of The Daleks’ Master Plan – including the two recently recovered episodes.
Speaking to DWM in 1986, Adrienne Hill told DWM: “I must admit, I feel a bit of a fraud, having only been in five episodes.” Back then, all that was thought to survive from Hill’s Doctor Who tenure as Trojan handmaiden Katarina was a handful of promo photos, some off-air audio recordings, and a 58-second clip from Master Plan 4, The Traitors, showing the moments just before Katarina’s untimely exit. Nothing else was known to exist. Not even telesnaps (photos taken off screen during broadcast).

Hill – who died in October 1997, aged 60 – remembered being “over the moon” to be in Doctor Who. “I thought it was a super show, and it was something that we all watched avidly. I phoned people up and said, ‘Guess what I’ve got a part in!’ I was delighted.”
But she added: “Now, of course, it’s all been wiped, except for just one tiny second. It’s a tragedy.” So, it’s genuinely mind-blowing that, 40 years later, in the space year 2026, the vast majority of Hill’s Doctor Who screen-time is back in the archives. Katarina lives!
