Delivering stories with a blunt and pragmatic tone, Trinity Wells appears somewhat skeptical of the increasingly strange events she reports on. As AMNN anchor, Trinity brings global news to an American audience and as such, tends to stick to clear reported facts – but, as host of her own show, she relishes in sensation and spin, altering the reality of the story to suit her own narrative. 

Character Bio

As 21st century Earth has discovered and adjusted to the idea of alien life, Trinity Wells has been the face of AMNN, an American television news channel (also available in the UK). Trinity broke the news of a spaceship crashing into Big Ben while the Slitheen began their infiltration of Downing Street. When the Sycorax took control of all humans with A+ blood, Trinity Wells was on duty on Christmas Day to share the situation. And when Prime Minister Harold Saxon announced ‘first contact’ with aliens, Trinity Wells covered the US President’s visit to the UK – and his subsequent assassination.

The USA was particularly affected by two invasions that were also reported by Wells. Firstly, the Sontarans’ hijack of the ATMOS system installed in the world’s cars, that created a toxic gas; and in a separate, Doctor-less timeline caused by Donna Noble, the birth of a much larger nursery of Adipose, which resulted in 60 million deaths across the country.

When Earth’s population was simultaneously transformed into a version of the Master, Trinity Wells was also affected – and just happened to be on air at the time!

By 2023, Trinity has advanced in her career from news anchor to host of her own talk show – The Trinity Wells Show, where she can discuss global events and share her own views with much less filter. Affected by the Giggle caused by the Toymaker, Trinity is seen lambasting UNIT’s preventative Zeedex device on the air, claiming it is being used to “control us, monitor us and microwave our brains”.

In 2025, Conrad Clark’s arrest by UNIT is covered by Trinity on her show, where she describes UNIT’s reaction to his dangerous hoax as “fascism on the streets of Britain”, contributing to the public backlash against the organisation.
