The baby known as Desiderium was born the seventh son of Otto Zufall, himself the seventh son of yet another seventh son. This unfathomable coincidence awakens the power of the Pantheon of Gods within the child, giving him the ability to grant any wish.

Kidnapped by the Rani, Desiderium’s power is combined with the limited imagination of Conrad Clark to create the Wish World – a fragile reality deliberately designed to break apart through doubt. As Conrad sustains the lie with stories, the child lies peacefully beside him – only occasionally emitting an all-too familiar giggle... 

Plot

Shortly after his birth, the seventh son of Otto and Violett Zufall is kidnapped by the Rani – but not before his family is subject to a cruel demonstration of his limitless wish-granting ability.

Naming the baby Desiderium, the Rani enlists conspiracy theorist Conrad Clark to create his ideal world using the baby’s power. Together, Conrad and the baby share a chamber in the Rani’s Bone Palace as she plots to destroy reality.

When the Doctor and his allies break free of the Wish World’s influence, Ruby Sunday rescues the child from Conrad, wishing away both Conrad and Desiderium’s power. No stranger to a new child in the house, the Sunday family decide to take the now ordinary baby in; naming him Joseph “Joe” Sunday, after Cherry’s husband and Carla’s father.
