The Doctor’s old friend, the kindly Omo, and his barbershop Omo’s Palace are a place of sanctuary for the travelling Time Lord. However, Omo has been trapped by new management – the villainous Barber, who has taken over his barbershop and forced Omo to trap men who love the shop as much as he does inside with him. The Doctor is heartbroken by Omo’s betrayal, but Omo later redeems himself by helping the Doctor defeat the Barber – and by offering the rogue demi-god his barbershop as he happily retires.

Character Bio

Omo was a child when he first met the Doctor - the Time Lord ended a fire that had engulfed his village. The Doctor has since returned to Omo’s barbershop, Omo’s Palace, on many occasions, always feeling welcomed by the kindly barber.  

However, on his latest visit something is wrong – Omo is missing, along with several men from the community. Once the Doctor is trapped in the barbershop the terrible truth is revealed. Omo’s Palace has been taken over by the villainous Barber, who has forced Omo to lure some of his most beloved customers to the shop so that he can use their stories to power the Engine – a massive spider-like machine that travels across a web in space. Desparate to escape, Omo plans to use the Doctor on his latest visit to help get the men home by telling his limitless stories – a betrayal that hurts the Doctor greatly.  

Omo later helps the Doctor free the men and defeat the Barber, leading the Doctor to forgive him and apologise for his earlier anger. Omo in turn apologises for having failed the Doctor and says that he is retiring, showing his kindness by not only offering his shop to the reformed Barber, but also gifting him the name of his father, Adétòkunbo.
