TARDIS Set Visit – UK Prize Draw – (the “Prize Draw”)

Terms and Conditions

  1. The BBC Code of Conduct (the “Code”) for prize draws and competitions can be found at https://www.bbc.com/editorialguidelines/guidance/code-of-conduct and all BBC Studios Distribution Limited (“BBCSD”) promotions comply with the Code.
     
  2. The Prize Draw opens on Sunday 23rd November 2025 and closes at midnight on Sunday 30th November 2025 (“Closing Date”).
     
  3. The Prize Draw is open to all residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 (eighteen) years or over except employees of BBCSD or their subsidiaries, agencies, members of their families and anyone professionally associated with the Prize Draw (those who enter the Prize Draw shall each be an “Entrant” and collectively the “Entrants”).
     
  4. By entering the Prize Draw, the Entrants agree:
    a) to be bound by these Terms and Conditions;
    b) that their surname, county of residence and (if applicable) winning entry may be released if they win a prize;
    c) that should they win a prize, their name and likeness may be used by BBCSD for pre-arranged promotional purposes.
     
  5. No purchase is necessary to enter.
     
  6. After the Closing Date, 2 (two) winners will be selected based on the criteria set out in clause 12.
     
  7. Entrants should enter by filling in the entry form in the Doctor Who Newsletter prior to the Closing Date in order to enter the Prize Draw. Emails or other forms of entry will not be accepted and entries received after the Closing Date, or incomplete entries, will not be eligible. Internet access is required to enter.
     
  8. Only 1 (one) entry will be permitted per person and bulk entries (meaning the use of any form of technology which allows multiple simultaneous entries) will not be permitted. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed. No responsibility is taken for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered for any technical or other reason. Entries received after the Closing Date will not be considered. Entries cannot be returned.
     
  9. Entrants’ data will be collected and used only for the purposes of administration of this Prize Draw. For more information on how BBCSD will use Entrants’ data, see the Privacy Notice.  
     
  10. Entrants must supply to BBCSD their full name and email address.
     
  11. Where Entrants have provided consent, BBCSD may send Entrants marketing messages on a regular basis. Entrants may unsubscribe from these at any time.
     
  12. The winning Entrants will be the first 2 (two) entries drawn at random after the Closing Date.  
     
  13. The prizes will be a total of 2 (two) visits to the TARDIS set in Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom (the “Site”), each of which shall consist of the following:
    a) a tour of the Site for the winner and their guest; and
    b) standard class return train travel for the winner and their guest from a UK mainland railway station near the winner’s residence to Cardiff Central railway station.  

    (each a “Prize” and together the “Prizes”). The Site visit will take place on a date in January 2026, subject to confirmation by BBCSD of Site and staff availability. Accommodation costs are not included.
     
  14. The winners will be announced via the Doctor Who newsletter and will be contacted directly via email, on Tuesday 2nd December 2025. Winners will be asked to provide their country of residence. If a winner is unable to be contacted within 1 (one) week of the Closing Date, BBCSD reserves the right to offer the Prize to an alternative Entrant, or to re-offer the Prize in any future BBCSD promotion, prize draw or competition.
     
  15. There is no cash alternative and the Prizes will not be transferable. The Prizes must be taken as stated and cannot be deferred. If a Prize must be taken on a specific date and the winner is/are unable to attend on that day, BBCSD reserves the right to offer the Prize to an alternative Entrant or to re-offer the Prize in any future BBCSD promotion, prize draw or competition. BBCSD accepts no responsibility for any costs associated with a Prize not specifically included/ stated. If any Prize is unavailable, for whatever reason, BBCSD reserves the right to substitute a Prize for another prize of equal or greater value.
     
  16. The surnames and counties of residence of the winners, and if applicable copies of the winning entries, may be obtained by emailing crm@bbc.com within 2 (two) months of the Closing Date. If an Entrant wishes to object to any of their surname, county of residence and/or winning entry being published or made available, please email crm@bbc.com. In such circumstances, BBCSD must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
     
  17. Any promotional activity or press release any winner makes in relation to the Prize Draw must be pre-approved by BBCSD in writing.
     
  18. BBCSD excludes liability to the full extent permitted by law for any loss, damage or injury occurring to an Entrant arising from their entry into the Prize Draw or occurring to the winners (and any guest accompanying them) arising from their acceptance of a Prize or attendance at the BBC/BBCSD Site.  
     
  19. Entry into the Prize Draw is acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
     
  20. BBCSD reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions or to cancel, alter or amend the Prize Draw or any of the Prizes at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, or if circumstances arise outside of its control.  
     
  21. The Prize Draw is subject to the laws of England and Wales.

Privacy Notice

To enter the prize draw, you have provided BBC Studios with your personal data, including your name and email address.  BBC Studios is the “data controller” of this information and is responsible for how your personal data is processed. We process personal data on the basis of our legitimate interests to engage with audiences and to promote our brands. We protect your information in many different ways. These include staff training, investing in technology and following strict handling and storing procedures.

BBC Studios will process your personal data to administer the prize draw and to send you marketing emails (if you choose to subscribe). BBC Studios may contact you to fulfil the prizes. The winning entrants will be the first 2 (two) entries drawn at random after the closing date.  

If you have not opted in to marketing, we will retain your data for compliance purposes for 6 (six) months after the prize draw closes and will then destroy it in line with the BBC Studios retention policy.
