Braving our quick-fire questions this week is Samuel Anderson, who has two roles in forthcoming episode, Listen...
Who do you play in this week’s episode and can you briefly describe your character?
I play Danny - who we’ve already met - and Orson Pink. I could say more but that would spoil the fun!
What were you doing when you found out you’d been cast in Doctor Who?
It was the day after I had celebrated my first Thanksgiving. Strange for an Englishman, but that’s another story. I was hanging at my pal’s house when the call came through. I got off the phone and told my friends the good news. Then my agent called me back and told me to keep it a secret. Ooops!
What’s your first memory of Doctor Who?
Exterminate!!!
Describe the Doctor in one word.
One word doesn't do him justice, but if you held a Dalek laser to my head, I’d go with a slang phrase and say "Peak”.
If you had a TARDIS, where and/or when would you go?
Easy one. Harlem, 1940’s. I’d go to Dukes Place, The Savoy and all of those spots to see [jazz legends] like Charlie Parker, Thelonious Monk, Louis Armstrong, Sarah Vaughan and Count Basie, to name but a few play! And maybe ancient Egypt to see how they actually did build those things…
Where’s the most interesting place you’ve ever visited in real life?
Birmingham.
What scary thing would you least like to encounter in real life?
My imagination just went wild! Realistically, having no work is the most depressing and scary thing for an artist.
What’s your favourite memory of working on Doctor Who?
Episodes 11 and 12 are epic!
Lots of people are passionate fans of Doctor Who. What are you a fan of?
Boxing - I read and watch everything about it - and music. Can't imagine a day without the blues.
Did you take any pictures on set, and could you share one with us?
The musicians will appreciate this one but fans of spoilers won't!
