It’s what you’ve been waiting for - our first trailer for Doctor Who Series 11 has landed!
During the Doctor Who panel at San Diego Comic-Con yesterday, we got our first look of the Thirteenth Doctor and her new friends in action.
The trailer showed Thirteenth Doctor (Jodie Whittaker) dressed in the Twelfth Doctor’s tattered threads, dealing with post-regeneration shock before showing us glimpses of the Thirteenth Doctor in her brand new colourful attire, alongside her new friends, Ryan Sinclair (Tosin Cole), Yasmin Khan (Mandip Gill) and Graham O’Brien (Bradley Walsh) in a variety of scenarios and landscapes.
The trailer didn’t give too much away – it didn’t show the TARDIS or any new monsters but the emphasis was very much on newness - “All of this is new to me,” we hear the Thirteenth Doctor in the voiceover, “New friends, new worlds, new times.”
Despite only giving us a brief glimpse of Series 11 (oh, Doctor Who, you big tease), fans were beside themselves with excitement; after all, this is our first look at actual footage from the forthcoming episodes themselves and the first time we’ve truly seen our new Doctor played by Jodie Whittaker in action.
