UK broadcaster ITV has released a brand new preview clip of former Doctor Who companion Jenna Coleman in their new drama series, Victoria.

Coleman stars as a young Queen Victoria in the series along with actor Tom Hughes as her husband, Prince Albert, and Rufus Sewell as Lord Melbourne (Victoria's first Prime Minister).

The ambitious 8-part drama follows the early life of Queen Victoria from her accession to the throne at the tender age of 18 through to her courtship and marriage to Prince Albert. The series chronicles the public and private life of one of history’s most interesting and influential monarchs.

Coleman first appeared in Doctor Who as Oswin Oswald in Asylum of the Daleks (2012) and then traveled with the Eleventh and Twelfth Doctors before leaving in 2015’s epic, Hell Bent.

Who fans will remember, of course, that Queen Victoria popped up in the show in 2006’s Tooth & Claw, then played by Pauline Collins.

Victoria will air on ITV later this year.
