Doctor Who: The Fan Show has released the second of three very special episodes which sit down with former showrunner Steven Moffat and look back on his time on the series.
When questioned about the more complex and timey-wimey nature of his stories and time on the show, Moffat commented:
“The timey-wimey story is not Blink, it’s not Girl in the Fireplace, it’s not any of those. The impossible to track story is Day of the Doctor.”
The episode was a feature-length special to celebrate Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary starring David Tennant, Matt Smith, John Hurt, Jenna Coleman and Billie Piper. Watch the full interview with Steven in the player below.
“Day of the Doctor, and I can say this because I wrote it – in what order does that happen? Where do you start? Do you start with Matt Smith, do you start with John Hurt, do you start with Paul McGann – where do you start? What happens next?
Now, that’s Doctor Who at its most accessible and multi-plex. That is Doctor Who as Doctor Who for anyone even if you’ve never seen it before. And yet, by far and away, it is the most complicated, timey-wimey Doctor Who story ever told.
If you get it right, it works fine. If you don’t get it right, then I end up confusing people and that’s my bad.”
