1066: A Monk witnesses the arrival of the TARDIS, and seems to recognise it. He’s another time traveller, a member of the Doctor’s race with a ship of his own but a very different view on interfering in history.

The First Doctor prevented him from scuppering the Norman conquest of England and foiled his plan to create a technological golden age 700 years too soon. The Doctor later encountered the Monk when both were caught up in the Daleks’ Master Plan. The Doctor stole the directional unit of the Monk’s TARDIS, leaving him unable to steer.
