Doctor Who

Acting legend Bernard Cribbins, who plays Wilfred Mott, announced at the Doctor Who Celebration that he and fellow Doctor Who star Kylie Minogue are to marry next week.

“She gave me a kiss, you know…” the 84-year-old revealed.

Joking with panel host and Dalek operator Barnaby Edwards, he also said that he was ‘fed up’ with the argument that he was to blame for the Tenth Doctor regenerating. “It was his heroic gesture saving my life,” he explained.

During a panel that was so popular that people watched from outside, Cribbins revealed that Doctor Who was “one of the best units I have ever worked with” and that he was the only person to be allowed to change lines in a Russell T Davies script. The audience applauded mention of Davies’ name and Cribbins explained that the former producer and head writer had written two more stories for his CBeebies series, Jack’s Boat.
