Tom Baker in Doctor Who

Fourth Doctor Tom Baker described his relationship with his predecessor Jon Pertwee at the Doctor Who Celebration in London’s ExCel.

When asked what he recalled about having met Pertwee for the regeneration, he replied: “Absolutely nothing at all. He didn’t speak to me. Maybe he was grieving. I don’t remember anything about him at all."

"I do remember he never bought me a drink. He had - we call it on Gallifrey - Alien Hand Syndrome. His hand wouldn’t go where the money was.”

Finishing his very tongue-in-cheek reply he concluded: “I remember nothing except anticipating future glory.”

When asked to recall what he liked most about working on Doctor Who, Baker replied: “I loved it all.”
